The Opportunity
The firm is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to lead and develop its London private client offering.
This is a senior strategic appointment for an established Senior Associate, Legal Director or Partner who can combine technical expertise with leadership, client development and a genuine appetite to grow a practice.
You will build upon the firm's existing reputation and client base while developing relationships with professional referrers and increasing its profile across London.
The Role
You will manage a high-quality caseload covering:
- Complex Wills and estate planning.
- Inheritance and capital tax planning.
- Probate and estate administration.
- Trust creation and administration.
- Lasting Powers of Attorney and elderly client matters.
- High-net-worth individuals, business owners and family wealth.
- Estates involving international assets, domicile and cross-border considerations.
- Court of Protection matters where relevant.
You will also:
- Lead the development of the firm's London private client practice.
- Introduce new clients and develop relationships with intermediaries and professional referrers.
- Represent the practice through networking, events and thought leadership.
- Identify cross-referral opportunities across the wider firm.
- Supervise, mentor and develop junior lawyers and support staff.
- Contribute to departmental strategy, financial performance and business planning.
- Maintain the highest standards of technical quality, risk management and client care.
About You
You will ideally:
- Be a qualified Solicitor with at least 10 years' PQE in private client law.
- Have broad experience across Wills, probate, trusts, tax planning and Powers of Attorney.
- Have particular expertise advising high-net-worth individuals, business owners and clients with international assets.
- Bring an established profile, client following or network of professional contacts in London and the surrounding area.
- Demonstrate a successful record of business development and relationship building.
- Have strong leadership, communication and team-management skills.
- Be capable of managing a full caseload with minimal supervision.
- Take a commercial and collaborative approach to building a practice.
