We are working with an established, Legal 500-profiled commercial law firm based in the City of London that is looking to appoint an experienced Corporate Solicitor.

The firm's partner-led Corporate and Commercial team advises entrepreneurs, owner-managed businesses and companies in the UK and internationally throughout the business lifecycle. The practice undertakes a broad range of transactional and advisory work, offering direct client contact, meaningful responsibility and close exposure to experienced partners.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and growing practice, develop long-term client relationships and play an important role in the team's continued development.

The Role

You will advise clients across a broad range of corporate matters, including:
  • Mergers and acquisitions
  • Business and company sales and purchases
  • Management buyouts and buy-ins
  • Shareholder agreements and arrangements
  • Investments and subscription agreements
  • Corporate reorganisations and restructurings
  • Corporate governance and directors' duties
  • General company law and corporate advisory matters
  • Transactions involving real estate businesses and assets

There may also be opportunities to advise on banking and finance matters, depending on your experience.

The Candidate

The firm is ideally looking for a Corporate Solicitor with at least five years' PQE who can demonstrate:
  • Broad experience in corporate transactional and advisory work
  • Experience acting for SMEs, owner-managed businesses and entrepreneurs
  • The ability to lead transactions from initial instruction through to completion
  • A commercial and pragmatic approach to problem-solving
  • Strong drafting, communication and client relationship management skills
  • An organised approach and the ability to manage matters effectively
  • An interest in business development, networking and building client relationships
  • The ambition to contribute to the continued growth of the corporate practice
Experience of corporate transactions within a real estate context would be particularly useful. Banking and finance experience would also be advantageous but is not essential.

Previous experience of supervising, mentoring or supporting junior lawyers and trainees would be welcomed but is not required.

What's on Offer
  • A salary of £80,000 to £100,000, depending on experience
  • Hybrid working, with three days in the Liverpool Street office and two days from home
  • High-quality and varied corporate work
  • Direct client contact and responsibility
  • Close collaboration with experienced partners
  • Strong cross-referral opportunities across the wider firm
  • A supportive and collegiate working environment
  • Genuine scope for career progression
  • The opportunity to help shape and grow an established corporate practice
