A well-established central London law firm is seeking a Banking and Finance Associate or Senior Associate to join its growing team in Central London.
The firm acts for a number of lender panels and advises on a broad range of property and non-property-related finance transactions. The successful candidate will work closely with lenders and borrowers, taking responsibility for transactions from initial instruction through to completion.
The role will include:
- Secured lending and refinancing transactions
- Bridging and short-term finance
- Property investment and development finance
- General corporate and business lending
- Acting for lenders and borrowers
- Reviewing and negotiating facility agreements and security documentation
- Advising clients on funding structures, risks and commercial terms
- Negotiating favourable terms on behalf of clients
- Preparing and reviewing conditions precedent
- Managing transactions through to drawdown and completion
- Maintaining relationships with lender panels and other professional contacts
The position also offers the opportunity to gain or further develop experience of Loan Market Association documentation and processes, including reviewing, negotiating and amending facility agreement clauses.
Candidates should have:
- Relevant experience in banking, finance, real estate finance or secured lending
- Experience acting for lenders, borrowers or both
- A sound understanding of finance and security documentation
- Strong drafting, negotiation and commercial skills
- The ability to manage transactions independently and work effectively to deadlines
- Excellent client care and relationship-management skills
- An interest in developing broader banking and finance expertise
Previous experience of LMA-based documentation would be advantageous but is not essential. The firm is open to candidates seeking to develop this area of their practice, provided they have a strong grounding in secured lending or property finance.
